Ave verum corpus (“Hail, True Body”), K. 618, is a sacred motet in D major composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in 1791. It sets to music the Latin Eucharistic hymn of the same name. Mozart wrote the piece for his friend Anton Stoll, the church musician at St. Stephan in Baden bei Wien. Composed for the Feast of Corpus Christi, the work is dated June 17, 1791, in Mozart’s own hand. The motet is arranged for a four-part choir (SATB), strings, and organ.
This arrangement is for solo flute.
