Product Description
“Rainbow Connection,” a song from the 1979 film The Muppet Movie, features music and lyrics by Paul Williams and Kenneth Ascher. Performed in the movie by Jim Henson as Kermit the Frog, the song achieved significant success, reaching No. 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 in November 1979 and remaining in the Top 40 for seven weeks. Williams and Ascher earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song at the 52nd Academy Awards.
In 2020, the Library of Congress recognized “Rainbow Connection” as “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant” and preserved it in the National Recording Registry.
